iPhone 4G costs Gawker $20k in all, Rhapsody offline mode, Garry Powell offered free vacation

The world knows that Gizmodo and parent Gawker Media paid $5,000 for the iPhone HD or 4G prototype that was lost in a bar in California. Gawker head Nick Denton figures the whole thing cost him about $20,000 for the handset, bonuses, and bandwidth. The money made from the exclusive is estimated to be $200,000.

Rhapsody has been on the iPhone for a while now and the service has gained an important new feature. Users can now take advantage of an offline listening mode that caches music and lets you listen without an internet connection.

The Apple employee who lost the infamous iPhone HD prototype in a bar has been offered a free German holiday. The offer comes from Lufthansa airlines and if I were My. Powell I'd want to be sure Steve Jobs wasn't sending him over on a one way ticket.
