EXCLUSIVE: Stone Temple Pilots Debut New Song!

"We know what Stone Temple Pilots sounds like -- we have a sonic blueprint," bassist Robert DeLeo recently told SPIN.com. He's right. On May 25, the Los Angeles alt-rockers will release Stone Temple Pilots, their first album in nearly a decade, and they sound as vital as ever: album gem "Take a Load Off" is part hard rock, part melodic pop, and all STP. Listen to SPIN.com's exclusive stream below!

The quartet -- frontman Scott Weiland, guitarist Dean DeLeo, bassist Robert DeLeo, and drummer Eric Kretz -- is the subject of SPIN's June cover story, on newsstands May 27. In his first assignment for SPIN, The Adderall Diaries author Stephen Elliott chronicles the comeback of a band, who -- despite a very delicate touring situation, in which Weiland is separated from the other three members -- have managed to thrive and record one of the best albums of their career.

STP's tour -- which kicked off with a bang at SXSW, where the band performed with Doors guitarist Robby Krieger -- continues into the summer. See their complete itinerary here.
