Hipstamatic for the iPhone is Hip, Indeed

I recently jumped into the "paid iPhone app" pool and came out with the best 1.99 I think I've ever spent at once. The app is based on a cool plastic kid's camera (The Hipstamatic) from the 80's that never really got off the ground but became a strong influence on today's street photography.
The app comes with a selection of lenses, film and flashes that are interchangable with one another to immediately give you the "analog experience". You can also purchase other "Hipstapacks" with different lens, film and flash collections to add to the existing set. The five extra Hipstapacks are currently .99 each from inside the app (I had to buy them all) and make the app so immensely versatile that you may well stop using your regular digital camera altogether especially since you have the choice to take them at full resolution.
I should note, however, that this is not a set of filters to apply to pictures you've already taken. You pick your film, lens and flash and simply take pictures with your iPhone; the pictures taken will refelect your "pack" choices.  This philosophy takes you back to the analog age in that you can't manipulate the image afterwards (unless you had a darkroom) and really puts you in the mode of capturing what you see in the everyday as an expression rather than a digital representation.
If you're interested in what is possible with this app, go to http://community.hipstamatic.com/contests and check out the contest entries that users have submitted. Oh yeah, did I mention you can enter your photos in their various contests to win new apps or iTunes gift cards? By the way, I dug through their Terms and Conditions and you retain all rights to any photos you submit. They also say that they don't sell your photos or other info. Good to know while all this Facebook privacy garbage is going on.
You can get to their main page at Hipstamaticapp.com. Check out a couple more of my pics below.
