Locally Grown Clothing Co. Spreads the Good Word of Local Food One T-shirt at a Time

Farmer's market season is now in full swing and yesterday, I followed in the footsteps of our deputy editor Amy and picked up my very first CSA produce share.

That got me thinking about a company called Locally Grown Clothing Co. and their purpose to spread the good word of the local food movement. Simple designs screen-printed with water-based inks on soft USA-made shirts allow you to proudly display where you get your grub. Not all states are represented just yet, but there are plans for more as the company expands. To learn more, click here.

From their website:

"The Rooster represents a call to action, to remind us to WAKE UP and make informed conscious decisions about the products we buy and the food we eat. The Rooster symbolizes honesty, pride, courage and vigilance. Not only does this sum up Midwestern values – but also the core values of Locally Grown Clothing Co. We exist today based on these principals and are here to enlist pride in people and courage to stand up for family farms and to keep a watchful vigilance over rural America in an effort to protect the environment and sustainable practices of the past."
