Chemical Brothers Unveil New Album Details

British electronic duo the Chemical Brothers aim to make their seventh album, Further (out June 8), a full-fledged multimedia experience, fusing both audio tracks and custom-crafted visuals into an ambitious sonic experiment.

Further -- the first studio LP since 2007's SPIN approved and Grammy Award winning We Are the Night -- will be released with corresponding films made to match each of the eight audio tracks; the clips will be included on the iTunes LP and special edition DVD versions of the album.

For the new films, the Chems -- Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons -- will partner with visual collaborators Adam Smith and Marcus Lyall. Smith, now a TV and film director, has created the visual backdrops for every Chemical Brothers gig since their live debut in 1994.

The duo will play four shows at London's Roundhouse in May, where they will showcase the entire new album and its corresponding films in their original sequence. The band will also play select festivals in Europe including the Sonar Festival in Barcelona (June 17-19) before coming to the U.S. for summer dates at the Hollywood Bowl on August 29 and Electric Zoo at Randall's Island in New York City on September 4.
